Welcome, and other pleasantries

Hello, welcome, etc etc. In news that is only really important to me, I’ve reached 100 followers on Tumblr.

So I’d like to say thank you, and give you all a big fucking cuddle.

Since you can’t actually cuddle me, feel free to cuddle your laptop. I’m cuddling mine right now, which is just delightful.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. For the purposes of literature, my name is Daniel Dalton, a psudonym I’ll explain to you sometime.

If you’d like to meet me, the non-psudonym me, then you can find me here.

This blog has been running for just a few weeks, and I’m pretty overwhelmed by the support and kindred spirits I’ve found so far.

I’ve known for a long time that Tumblr is the most awesome corner of the internet, but all of you are confirming it with relish (beetroot relish, if you were wondering).

I believe in the written word. I believe that amongst the bullshit, literature still exists, that there is art among the indifference.

In everything I do, I believe in challenging convention. Be they conventions of literature, of this industry, or of the genres I choose to work in.

I believe there is still room in this medium for beauty, for truth, for some fucking original thought.

I write literature that provokes thought, subverts expectation and satirises the assholes and their bullshit.

On this blog I’ll post some of that literature, and offer thoughts on writing, helpful hints, tips and philosophy.

Feel free to get in touch if you’d like me to read something you’ve written. I’ll be honest, if you’ll do the same.

I swear a lot and I’m kind of an asshole, but don’t let that put you off. I won’t bullshit or fuck around. I won’t beg for promotion or book sales.

Thanks again for following, I’ll follow back as long as Tumblr lets me. That’s an optimistic goal, but why not.

I love the written word. I really fucking love it. Lets start the revolution together.
